In the near future, society has sunk to near-distopian levels of crime. The government took advantage of the dimension-shifting technology which eventually resulted from the Philadelphia Experiment and, taking advantage of the physiological advantages, built a prison in a dimension which was given the name Tiresias for the unusual transit property of male inmates and guards becoming women and female guards becoming men.
